Grounds

The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula covers 32 acres of historic Fort Missoula property and includes over 20 historic structures; some original to Fort Missoula, while others have been brought to the museum to ensure their preservation.

Our grounds are self-guided. Visitors are more than welcome to enter any of our out-buildings with open doors (you can even climb the lookout tower!). To guide you along the way we have a variety of exhibits, outdoor interpretive signs, an online guide, and a coming soon virtual tour.

If you are interested in a guided tour of the grounds, please contact our Education Director, Kristjana Eyjolfsson (406-258-3469). Please contact at least 24 hours in advance. Tours based on availability of the staff and volunteers.
