Victoria J. Fleischer Development/Communications Internship

 

Join the HMFM Development team as a Victoria J. Fleischer intern in Development and Communications! Developing outreach and fundraising opportunities about our community’s history is an integral part of the museum’s purpose. The work done in the Development Department is essential to ensure that these important stories and artifacts will be available for future generations.

 

As an intern you will discover the behind-the-scenes workings of a Development Department by creating fundraising events, promoting our mission through outreach, marketing, and social media awareness, gain funding for programs and projects through grant writing and annual fundraising initiatives, increase museum membership through targeting communications, and assisting in all development activities.

 

Within the Development Department, you may do one or more of the following projects:
  • Create fundraising events both online and in-person to enhance the publics awareness of the Museum and raise funds for programing and projects.
  • Manage social media accounts, create virtual events and ‘Live’ activities, write and disseminate articles and online communications to promote the Museum’s programs and projects.
  • Design marketing material for communicating about upcoming events, projects, and all Museum activities.
  • Work with the Development Director on the Museum’s events which host over 25k people annually and in addition create a virtual component of all in-person events, exhibits openings, etc.
  • Compile annual date to create outreach material educating the public about the scope and reach of the Museum and its activities.
